The first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the International Collective Security Forum and other events held under Russia’s chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in 2026 recently took place in Moscow.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation and Organizing Committee Chairman Alexei Overchuk. The participants discussed key organizational and substantive issues related to preparations for the forum, as well as coordination with other events on the calendar of Russia’s CSTO chairmanship in 2026, and set the dates for the event.

“The Forum continues the traditions established by the decisions made at the CSTO Summit in Bishkek in 2025, which approved a plan for cooperation that aims to strengthen the collective interests and initiatives of CSTO member countries on the global stage. Russia’s 2026 CSTO chairmanship is being held under the motto ‘Collective Security in a Multipolar World: Common Goal, Shared Responsibility’ and is aimed at intensifying cooperation to ensure the CSTO’s technological leadership in the military sphere. I am confident that the decisions made during the events of Russia’s chairmanship will help to meet the strategic interests of the organization’s member states and strengthen the CSTO’s role in Eurasia,” Overchuk said.

The International Collective Security Forum is directly linked to the central event of Russia’s CSTO chairmanship, namely a session of the Collective Security Council on 11 November 2026. A joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defence Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils will also take place in the run-up to the summit.

“The Forum will take place on 10–11 November in Moscow. Its organic integration into the programme of key events of Russia’s CSTO chairmanship will bring together the highest-level participants to discuss global issues concerning unified and indivisible Eurasian security in a multipolar world. It will also help to strengthen cooperation at the business level through the development of joint projects and business contacts. Furthermore, this new platform will facilitate the practical exchange of advanced technologies and experience in key areas to achieve the goals of Russia’s 2026 chairmanship,” Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
